The Mumbai unit of Bhartiya Janata Party, on Friday, formally launched its campaign – ‘Mee Mumbai’ (I am Mumbai) for the upcoming BMC Polls 2017.

The launch took place at Dadar where Union Minister for Railways, Suresh Prabhu was also felicitated and his ministry’s works for nearly 70 lakh commuters were showcased as the development agenda by the party. Suresh Prabhu said that the objective of ‘Mee Mumbai’ is to develop a sense of belonging to the city.

With this launch, it is now very clear that the saffron allies, the Sena and BJP, will be fighting the Civic Body Elections 2017 separately. “The campaign is about serving justice to the city and defeating those responsible for injustice,” said Ashish Shelar, Mumbai BJP chief in a jibe at Sena that controls the BMC.

At this function, Suresh Prabhu also announced that a world class memorial of Shivaji Maharaj will be built at CST.
