On the first day of the two-day monsoon session, 12
Bharatiya Janata Party legislators were suspended by the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government for one year claiming that they did not behave appropriately and were using offensive language with the presiding officer Bhaskar Jadhav in the deputy speaker’s chamber.
Allegedly, the BJP members straggled into the well of the House and were howling slogans in opposition of the state government, cutting it off on the first day of the two-day monsoon session. A move was proposed by Anil Parab the State parliamentary affairs minister for the suspension of 12 Bharatiya Janata Party members, and it was passed by a majority of votes.
The suspended members include: Sanjay kute, Ashish Shelar, Abhimanyu Pawar, Girish Mahajan, Atul Bhatkhalkar, Parag Alavani, Harish Pimpale, Yogesh Sagar, Jay Kumar Rawal, Narayan Kuche, Ram Satpute and Kirtikumar Bagadia. The whole activity was described by Jadhav, the presiding officer in the house, and asked the state government to take immediate actions against those who behaved inappropriately in the deputy speakers chamber then Parab moved the proposal.
The former Maharashtra minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis requested that serious actions should not be taken as the members have already have asked for pardon from the presiding officer after the incident took place. In its response to suspension Bharatiya Janata Party MLA stated that “we never abused the speaker of Maharashtra state assembly, it is just that the Shiv Sena does not dare to fight them and have suspended as it was the only solution” Former chief minister Fadnavis stated that “the whole story was cooked and the suspension was made in false allegations, we will continue fighting even if we are suspended for 5 years. I am aware that those who used foul language. The government’s belief of our bringing different shortcomings has led to this suspension.”
