State BJP chairman Chandrashekhar Bawankule said on Sunday, "There is no space for leaders involved in groups and indiscipline. We will not accept factional politics within the party. I've been receiving complaints about this, but those who are trying to cause a rift will have to pay the price when the time is right. No one is greater than the party.

In support of the recently announced "Thank You Modiji" campaign, Mr. Bawankule has been meeting office holders and party members throughout the state to get in touch with recipients of various government programs and collect letters of gratitude from them. He told reporters on Mira Road that the party was working to win more than 45 Lok Sabha seats and more than 200 assembly seats in the 2024 elections.

Due to the growing divide between district BJP Chairman Ravi Vyas and former MLA Narendra Mehta, the BJP, which successfully wrested control of the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) in the 2017 elections, is almost split. After Mr. Mehta aggressively opposed Mr. Vyas' selection as president of the local BJP unit in 2021, there was more internal strife.

On the other hand, Mr. Vyas has partnered up with independent MLA Geeta Jain, who just announced her support for the BJP. The competing parties' boycotts of the party's formal conclaves and other events show that the local unit of the party is still a divided house. As Mr. Bawankule addressed the media on Sunday, all three—Vyas, Mehta, and Jain—registered their attendance. Infighting among party workers is thought to have a negative impact on the BJP's chances of winning the civic elections.
