Maharashtra BJP assesses the situation cautiously after the arrest of Union Minister Narayan Rane
In recent chaos after a statement given by Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises to the Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray stating that he would have slapped him it would have been present there, alleging that the Chief Minister forgot the year of Independence while addressing the citizens on the occasion of Independence day. After which the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) while supporting the Union Minister Narayan Rane is taking every step very cautiously as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections 2022 approach. With the recent clashes between the two parties, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) fears that the Shiv Sena may backfire it, in such a peak time if the Shiv Sena can convince people that the statement given by Bharatiya Janta Party’s (BJP) Union Minister Narayan Rane was contentious and degrading Chief Minister of the state.

Immediately after Narayan Rane’s comments sparked controversy, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders such as Devendra Fadnavis and Maharashtra unit Chief Chandrakant Patil, made it very clear that the remarks given by the Union Minister were not appropriate against the Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray, but still, the party will support the Union Minister. With a step forward the BJP Chief Chandrakant Patil went on to say that the Shiv Sena is still a blood brother to their party, after which confusion has been created in the party cadre. Speculations are being made that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) does not want to confront the issue more at this point. Both the leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Devendra Fadnavis and Chandrakant Patil have yet not met Union Minister Narayan Rane since his arrest on Tuesday.

“The Shiv Sena’s rank gets charged up in situations when its leaders or the Marathi Pride gets hurt. The protest on the streets after the statement given by Union Minister Narayan Rane has proven it. After a very long period, the Shiv Sena members got the opportunity to showcase their original colors. Such responses from the Shiv Sena may play against the BJP’s political prospects in the city of Mumbai as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections 2022 approach. The BJP will have to revisit its strategy and arrange brainstorming sessions with the help of surveys, etc,” stated a BJP leader.
