Shiv Sena leader Anil Parab (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) in Mumbai said on Thursday that NOTA (none of the above) voters in the Andheri (East) Assembly Election were being threatened and even paid to vote that way. "This matter has already been reported to the police and the election commission," Parab added. According to the guidelines set forth by the elections commission, campaigning for the Andheri (E) by-election ended on Tuesday night, 48 hours before the poll.

The news of using money to get individuals to use NOTA has been in the media for the past few days, according to Parab, who was speaking to the media outside a polling place. He stated: "In a news conference two days ago, I spoke about. I've complained to the Electoral Commission and emailed the Police Commissioner at least 10 videos and pictures, but nothing has been done as of yet. I'm not sure how much pressure the police are under because the news of certain people's arrests is trending. The office bearers' proposals to utilize money will be obvious if the police look into the uploaded footage."

Rutuja Latke, the wife of two-term incumbent Ramesh Latke, is running for Shiv Sena in the Andheri by-election (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray). She is one of eight candidates running for office, along with Bala Nadar (Aapki Apni Party), Manoj Kumar Nayak (Right to Recall Party), Neena Khedekar (Independent), Farhan Syed (Independent), Milind Kamble (Independent), and Rajesh Tripathi (Independent).
