The election commission has practically finished all of the necessary preparations for the by-election in the Andheri East constituency, and with the assistance of the state government, has enlisted the aid of a sizable police force, a reserve police unit, and local home guards. Ramesh Latke, a two-term Shivsena MLA, passed away, and the election commission declared a by-election to fill his seat. There are 256 polling locations and 2,71,000 registered voters in the constituency, according to the top poll organizers. To ensure a smooth election process, more than 1,600 government workers are at work. "The voting period will run from 7 am to 6 pm. 430 voters will vote from home, including 419 voters with disabilities. There have been no known instances of money distribution by the police or EC, and the district is devoid of any sensitive booths "said Nidhi Choudhary, a Collector.
Along with Rutuja Latke, Manoj Nayak of the Right to Recall Party and Bala Vyankatesh Vinayak Nadar of the Aapki Apni Party are running for office. The election will also feature independent candidates Rajesh Tripathi, Milind Kamble, Farhana Siraj Sayed, and Nina Khedekar. The results will be tallied on November 6.
In the Andheri East constituency, there are 256 booths spread across 38 locations. 1000 to 1250 people are permitted to cast ballots at each booth. It has 17 voting booths on the first level and 239 polling booths on the main floor, all of which have elevator access. In the booths, there will be wheelchairs available.
