Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has written a letter to Chief Minster Uddhav Thackeray saying that steps must be taken as soon as possible on the three matters hoisted by the Leader of Opposition (LoP) Devendra Fadnavis. The representatives of the BJP had come up in Raj Bhavan on June 23rd and submitted memorandums to Koshyari upraising three demands. The first one to increase the duration of the monsoon session, the second regarding the delay in conducting elections of the assembly speaker, and the last one postponing the local body elections in light of the Supreme Court throwing away political reservations for the OBC category.

The Maharashtra Governor in the letter has demanded the Chief Minster Uddhav Thackeray to take measures on the issues by Devendra Fadnavis and has asked the government to inform him of the measures taken on them. Last year an all-out war was irrupted in Maharashtra when Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and Chief Minster Uddhav Thackeray were engaged in a vicious and public war of words. In the letter, Governor said, “It is ironic that while the government has opened up bars and restaurants, it keeps gods and goddesses in lockdown.”

He asked Uddhav Thackeray if he was suddenly turned secular given that Sena has been a strong supporter of Hindutva. Chief Minister then replied saying that he did not need a Hindutva certificate from the Governor. The Chief Minister also taunted the Governor on his meeting with Kangana saying that welcoming those people who are calling Mumbai PoK doesn’t fit his terms of Hindutva.
