Aaditya Thackeray, a former minister and leader of the Yuva Sena, has launched yet another attack on the Shinde Fadnavis administration over the rejection of the proposed Medical Devices Park in Aurangabad Industrial City (AURIC). Aaditya criticised the government of Maharashtra in a harsh tweet, writing, "After two projects, namely Vedanta-Foxconn (in Talegaon) and Bulk Drug Park (in Raigad district), now Maharashtra too has to miss the Medicine Devices Park." Maharashtra was denied another another project despite having high-quality facilities and qualified labour. Are the authorities aware of this?

In 2020, the Shiv Sena-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government submitted a request for grants to the Center to support the creation of the Medical Devices Park at AURIC. With the Center, the government had consistently pushed for the distribution of grants to support the initiative. The Union Minister of Chemical and Fertilizers, Mansukhani Mandaviya, responded to Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi's question in the Rajya Sabha on September 14. The state industries department official declined to respond when reached.

'The Department had received bids from 16 states/union territories, including the proposal from the Maharashtra Government,' Chaturvedi had tweeted in response to Mandaviya. Four bids from the state governments of Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh were chosen after evaluation of 16 ideas, and each of the four states has received Rs 30 crore as the first grain in a bid. It's interesting that Maharashtra was left out.

"I asked the grant in aid facility from the central government for Maharashtra Medical Devices Park in my Special Mention in the month of March. In her tweet, Chaturvedi stated, "Received a response from the Hon. Minister and once again Maharashtra has been overlooked in the decision for funding granted.

Under the Central Scheme for "Promotion of Bulk Drugs Parks," the MVA government had proposed to create a 350-acre site at AURIC Bidkin for a Medicine Devices Park at a cost of Rs. 450 crore. The park was built to lower bulk medicine manufacturing costs domestically and boost competition in the local bulk drug market.
