A possible BJP-Maratha Group alliance in the upcoming elections

As the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections approach, a new series of decisions has come up, with the Chief of Sambhaji Brigade Purshottam Khedekar, in a recent statement declared that the Maratha outfit wants to make an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the future elections.

 

This statement plays a very important role because the extremist Maratha Group Sambhaji and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) are widely known in political circles. The Chief Khedekar took on a magazine and stated that the best option for an alliance in the current time is Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

 

This Maratha outfit, Sambhaji Brigade a branch of Maratha Seva Sangh has significant assistance of the Maratha Youth in the state of Maharashtra. This alliance between the two may be detrimental to the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in the upcoming elections, as this unity will transfer the Maratha Community and Bharatiya Janata Party’s anger towards the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) Government.

 

After the Supreme Court’s order to throw away the reservation for the Maratha Community came, it has created a rift between the two parties are so are the Maratha Community anguished. “This is not a situation where we can go solo for the elections as the Shiv Sena has a coalition with the Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), so it is dubious that the parties will give us any seat-sharing. In the past 25 years, there have been series of discussions with the Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) but they never gave us anything considerable seats, looking at the current situations the Bharatiya Janata Party is the one where they need small parties, also their support is required. So that is why we have adopted this idea to go with the BJP, as we have not held any discussion as of now so if the party is open for ideas we can talk,” stated Khedekar.
