2022 BMC surveys: Mumbai Congress to dispatch 100-day program from February 6

The Mumbai Congress will launch a 100-day retreat drive from February 6 before the Brihanmumbai Metropolitan Municipality (BMC) elections, which will interact with citizens of all 227 election wards of the civic body. BMC, India's richest civic body, is expected to go to the polls in February 2022.  Out of the total 227 seats, 97 are dominated by corporates.  The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has 83 corporators; Congress  29;  Eight for NCP;  Six are from the Samajwadi Party;  Two in All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and two in Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS)“The aim of this campaign is to interact with citizens, get to know their problems, understand them and provide solutions. 

We will give our vision to the citizens for each ward, ”said Ravi Raja, a Congress corporator from Zion and Leader of the Opposition in the BMC.   "There is no specific solution to all the problems in the city, but it depends on the area ... damaged buildings, roads, health, etc.," he said. The Congress said it would involve all activists across the city  Asked if BMC was planning an event ahead of the polls, Raja said, "It is not early or late.  The purpose of this program is to engage with citizens.  The actual expression and election campaign will take place in the first phase. 

"The Shiv Sena and the BJP said their leaders were in regular contact with the people. Shiv Sena senior corporator and former mayor Visakha Raut said, “We are in constant touch with the problems of the citizens.  Unlike the Congress, we are a cadre based party, always in touch with the citizens. 

I think all the political parties will campaign together with the citizens before the BMC elections ... even the Shiv Sena will do it.  'BJP corporator and party leader Vinod Mishra said this as part of our program to raise funds for the construction of the Ram temple.  During this collection campaign, we also interact with citizens, so far we have protected 30% of the city.  The actual work for the election campaign will also begin in the coming months.  "At the state level, the Congress has said that despite the alliance between the Shiv Sena and the NCP, the BMC is still trying to contest the elections independently   Raja said the Congress would contest the BMC elections on its own so far.
