The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued a notice to actor Sonu Sood, requesting that he return a six-story structure in Juhu that had been turned into a hotel to its original state as a residential building. It was assured by Sood earlier to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to turn the building into a residential facility.

"In the earlier statement, you made it was said that you would terminate the operation of lodging/boarding on the existing 1st to 6th floors of the building and hence it shall be used for residential purposes according to the plan that was sanctioned," as per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) notification. You've also noted that essential addition/alteration/restoration work is underway."

The notification sent to the Actor stated that "This office inspected the site on October 20 and found that you had not yet restored the work as per the approved plan." The Bombay High Court fined Sood for the incident earlier this year. He promised to restore the building after withdrawing his suit from the Supreme Court.

Sonu Sood has submitted an application to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) BP Department's K-West ward (Juhu, Andheri, Vile Parle -West) office in June 2018 to convert the six-story residential structure into a hotel for lodging. The BMC had returned the proposal in September 2018 and requested that it adhere to the rules.

Following many complaints, the premises were investigated by K West ward health department authorities on January 24, 2019, to check the details, and it was discovered that the facility lacked a legal license to operate. Officials subsequently announced that Sonu Sood would face criminal charges.
