BMC Elections 2022
The BMC has planned to build a vehicular bridge between Dr. E Moses Road and Dr. Annie Besant Road in Worli to help with traffic and pedestrian mobility. The proposed bridge will increase access between the Nehru Science Centre and the Nehru Planetarium.

The 571-meter-long bridge's tender procedure is ongoing, and construction will commence after the recommendation and objection phase is completed. By 2024, the bridge should be completed. Lower Parel, Prabhadevi, and Mahalaxmi are all connected by Worli Naka.

Dr. E Moses Road is home to the Worli Engineering Hub, the Nehru Science Centre, and the Four Season Hotel, while Dr. Annie Besant Road is home to Atria Mall, the National Sports Club of India, and LalaLajpat Rai College. The Nehru Science Centre, Art Gallery and Nehru Planetarium have also seen an upsurge in visits.

As a result, the Worli region is always congested with pedestrians and vehicles. Furthermore, the building work has had an impact on traffic. As a result, after the bridge is built, travel time between Dr. E Moses Road in Mahalaxmi and Dr. Annie Besant Road in the Love Grove pumping station region will be reduced.

At a cost of Rs 280 crore, the 18.3-metre-wide bridge would be built over the nullah adjacent to the Nehru Science Centre. "Because the Worli region is such a busy intersection, the bridge was desperately needed to relieve traffic congestion." This bridge will provide respite to both automotive and pedestrian traffic. According to Datta Narvankar, a local ex-corporator, the bridge will land near the Nehru Planetarium and then be at road level for a few metres before joining Annie Besant Road.

"A tender for the construction of the bridge has been invited," said Ulhas Mahale, Deputy Municipal Commissioner for infrastructure. "Any recommendations or objections submitted would be integrated following approval." By the first week of June,  the bridge tender will be open. Once the contractor is chosen, the construction work will be completed in 18 months (excluding monsoon).
