Ripples of change are visible across Andheri and Vile Parle (W) following TOI’s ‘Mumbai Patrol’ campaign.

The authorities of K-West ward have begun to repair specific roads that were named by residents in the news report and during the subsequent public meeting. A local corporator has sponsored streetlights in Amboli.

Advocate Divyesh Trivedi, who had highlighted the cause of Ramesh Nagar, Amboli, called to say that the road leading from Kunchikorve Nagar to Sahakar Nagar would shortly be repaired under a Central government scheme. Local corporator Jyoti Sutar has put up an announcement to that effect.

At the open forum a female resident of Kevnipada, Amboli, had said drug addicts and drunkards prowled the dark stretches of her lane after dusk. Councillor Ameet Satam had instantly promised to install two streetlights, and after surveying the locality, he kept his word on Friday. “It was a private road that was not handed over to the BMC so the civic body could not install lights. I decided to sponsor them,” he said.
