Ahead of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections 2022, in a recent declaration, the Maharashtra Industries Minister Subhash Desai stated that the men community should not interfere in the work of the women sarpanches and let them acquire as much knowledge as they can by experiencing things. The directives came in the conference of women sarpanches organized by the Aurangabad Zilla Parishad and MLCs Ambadas Danve and Manisha Kayande. He further stated that the women's representation in local governing bodies can be seen increasing with time, this shows that people have shown full faith in them. If women are growing its popularity like nothing else then there will be no need to search for women candidates at the time of elections, added the Shiv Sena leader.
“Least involvement should be noticed to women to learn things up from their own experience, the state government looks forward to introducing a plan on bringing a rule where it will be mandatory for senior officials to visit gram panchayats and explain the schemes to members,” stated Maharashtra Industries Minister Subhash Desai. He asked women sarpanches to give a visit to the offices and look what are the letters and resolutions passed by the State Government of Maharashtra.
Responding to this Sarpanch Varsha Jadhav stated that due to the mistake done by the computer operators the needy get excluded from different schemes led out by the government, in this regard the Sarpanches should have the right to deposit the salary of these operators and not the appointing agency will do so.
