Despite increase testing in the city of Mumbai for Covid 19 the city has not been noticing any rise in cases, stated the report which was released by the
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). With this, the civic body still believes that 15 days after Diwali is very crucial and should be kept under observation and they will be in observation till November 20.
From November, the number of testings has increased from 33,000 and 41,000 samples which earlier stood at 25,000 to 35,000 a day. Though throughout the positivity remained at 1 percent. With this, the daily cases recorded in the city of Mumbai have also declined which in October were recorded at 5,997 and dropped to 3850 this month, which is a drop of 40.3 percent.
“Compared to the last time, the cases have seen a significant downfall in the city of Mumbai. It is good that the positivity rate is being recorded quite low even though the huge public is movements were noticed in the festivity time, travel and visits to temple. We will have to wait for a week to observe further if any changes are noticed,” stated Dr. Madhav Sathe a former Microbiologist.
After the government of Maharashtra with Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray announced the resumption of suburban train services from August 15, there has not been noticed any spike in daily cases of Covid 19. From October, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) permitted resuming the schools for students from 8 to 12 then opened religious places from October 7. Thereafter, theatres and multiplexes were resumed.
Ahead of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections 2022, the civic body assured the citizens that even if the Covid 19 third wave hit the city of Mumbai it will be much milder than the first two waves.
