Mumbai: BMC starts EV stations in Dadar with 72 vehicles charging capacity a day
What comes as good news is that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has commenced its first-ever Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station in a public parking lot. After the start of the charging station, it has received a positive response from the public. Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray recently inaugurated the Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station. 
 
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is in hunt of more such locations for setting up the new Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations in the properties of the Municipal Corporation. In the past, State Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray assured the citizens of setting up more Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations. 
 
“The response after setting up of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station in Dadar West is great. As of now the total number of vehicles that have been charged is 20. Adding to it continuous enquiries are being done from the people who look forward to buying Electric Vehicle (EV),” stated G/North ward Assistant Commissioner Kiran Dighavkar.
 
According to the reports, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC|) in its initials steps of planning will be installing 35 charging points. Later on the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will extend the numbers to 100.  Responding to the setting up of new stations, an official stated that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is looking forward to setting up solar energy plants rather than relying on conventional energy sources. A plan of initiating Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations is also being made by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) ahead of the civic elections approaching in 2022.
