The reported numbers of Covid 19 cases in Maharashtra on Wednesday were counted to 9,558 with 147 deaths, a fall of 24 as compared to the previous day. With 8899 patients being discharged from the hospitals in the last 24 hours, the recovery rate stands at 58,81,167 till now. The active cases are at 1,14,625.
The recovery rate of the State of Maharashtra stands at 96.05 percent while the death rate is 2.02 percent with the case positivity rate being 14.2 percent, stated by the health department. As the cases raise the number of samples tested till now stands at 4,31,24,800 in the state of Maharashtra. With 6,34,423 people at home quarantine and 4,645 in institutional quarantine in Maharashtra.
Maharashtra which has been a Covid hotspot in the first two waves is on alert for the third wave. The state task force in a statement said that along with the possible impact on children the third wave may also affect those who managed to avoid Covid in both the earlier waves.
“It becomes very crucial to be prepared at this time, is it likely to be affecting one particular population, especially paediatrics, especially those age groups which are not yet affected in the first and second wave, that may be the case,” stated Dr. Om Srivastava.
