With the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections in 2022 looming, a new attack has been launched. Mayor Kishori Pednekar has challenged BJP leaders if Amruta Fadnavis will be appointed the opposition leader in the Assembly, slamming BJP president Chandrakant Patil for his remark about Uddhav Thackeray. "She (Amruta) likes to be in the spotlight," Pednekar remarked, adding that any statements made against Rashmi Thackeray will not be tolerated.
"If CM Uddhav Thackeray is unwell and cannot attend Assembly, then he should step down and pass the charge to his son Aaditya," Patil remarked to the media on Wednesday. If not, Rashmi Thackeray, his wife, could be named CM. The absence of CM Thackeray during the state legislature's winter session is inexcusable."
"Citizens have not seen CM in the last 45 days," he added. The average person is sympathetic, but the state cannot function on compassion. If the Chief Minister goes on a foreign trip, he must delegate authority to someone else, but Thackeray distrusts the NCP and Congress." "Patil is a senior leader," Pednekar remarked. I shouldn't say anything negative about him, but he does make statements that make me pity him, and we had to answer this time."
