The Western Railway's punctuality and commitment on cleanliness were lauded by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. On Sunday, he went to Mumbai Central Station and inspected the waiting room and the Mumbai Central Pod Hotel. According to sources, Vaishnaw urged WR personnel to keep trains clean and on time. Vaishnaw also evaluated the operation of the Unified Command and Control Centre (UCCC) at the Divisional Railway Manager's office in Mumbai Central.
He was accompanied by Anil Kumar Lahoti, General Manager, Central Railway, Prakash Butani, General Manager (In-charge), Western Railway, Divisional Railway Manager of Mumbai Central Division, and other senior WR officials. According to Sumit Thakur, Western Railway's Chief Public Relations Officer, Vaishnaw extensively inspected the Train Management System (TMS) as well as the Unified Command and Control Centre (UCCC) and praised the latest technology. "He praised the UCCC's simple data collecting and data monitoring, which aids in making real-time choices, enhancing safety, and optimizing resources," Thakur added.
Following that, he engaged with young railway officials, encouraging them to take on new challenges and work toward a brighter future for railways. The minister also discussed his idea of 'Divisional Empowerment' with the railway personnel and urged them to give their thoughts on Gati Shakti. He also urged them to take Indian Railways to new heights and convert it into a world-class railway.
Following that, he inspected Mumbai Central Station. He also went to the Waiting Room, where he engaged with passengers and solicited opinions on cleanliness, punctuality, train services, and so on. The minister was overjoyed to hear such great feedback. Aside from that, he went to one of the vendor booths and inquired about the digital payment option. Vaishnaw also talked with Sahayaks (coolies) at Mumbai Central Station, assuring them that their problems will be resolved.
