War of words have ignited between two parties again, soon after the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader, Nawab Malik alleged Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) zonal officer Sameer Wankhede’s sister-in-law of a drugs case which was under trial and shared screenshots of it publicly, the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Devendra Fadnavis slammed Malik, his family members and two convicts of the Mumbai blast in 1993 under a dubious land deal. With this counter-attacking the allegations led out by Fadnavis, Malik slammed and assured that he will be dropping a hydrogen bomb, which will expose the former Chief Minister’s links with the underworld.
The war between both the leaders came out via media with each alleging the other. Soon the former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis alleged Malik of stuck deal with Bombay blasts convicts, replying t which Malik attacked Fadnavis stating, “Wednesday will be the day when I will expose the truth about the former Chief Minister’s underworld links and how he took in charge of Mumbai when was the leader from 2014 to 2019, with the help of an underworld don.”
Further, proving the allegation wrong, he stated that Fadnavis was trying to destroy his image by linking his name with blast convicts and the underworld. I have never in my life ever purchased any land from blast convicts. He further stated that the leader had promised that post-Diwali he would drop a bomb on my links with the underworld, this is what the bomb was? It has turned out to be a damp squib.
These allegations and counter-attacks have come at a time when Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections 2022 are around the corner. These statements will play a very important role while people choose their leaders. It is to be seen how the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Malik and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader can prove their points.
