Visitors not to be allowed inside the Ganpati Pandals: BMC states

The guidelines which were issued last year, once against have been issued this year too for the celebration of Ganesh Utsav in the view of the pandemic. Directions have been given by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for the celebrations stating that the visitors will not be permitted to enter the Ganpati Pandals this year. Inside the Pandals, there will not be more than five people, which will include pandits and volunteers. Further, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) stated that the organisers of the Ganesh Utsav festival should make arrangements for online darshan via social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter and cable/local TV channels.

 

The city of Mumbai has been noticing more than 300 Cases of Covid for three consecutive days, with 364 cases and five fatalities recorded on Friday. However, it has noticed a dip in the case from Thursday when it recorded 397 cases, the highest of this month with seven deaths. Ahead of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections to be held in 2022, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had held a meeting with leaders of all the parties wherein it was decided to study the legal aspects of providing political reservation to the Other Backward Class (OBC) community. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray stated that once against there will be a meeting held to decide on the issue.
