Vaccines stock to last 2 days said BMC

Mumbai: As many as 22,686 people were vaccinated against Covid-19 in Mumbai during an 'appointment-only drive, with 50,000 vaccine shots in stock, BMC officials said. The BMC Executive Health Officer said the vaccination would continue for the next two days. Mangala Gomer said. BMC officials expect the first batch of senior citizens to be vaccinated on April 1 and receive new shares before Monday. BMC received 2,500 doses of the vaccine through the Thane District Public Health Office on Friday morning. 
 
Bombay Hospital, HN Reliance Hospital, Kohinoor, Apollo Hospital, Kokilaben Hospital, Criticare, and Nanavati hospitals vaccinated 3,850 people aged 18-44. Other beneficiaries include 14,466 people aged 45-59 and 4,017 senior citizens. About 80% of vaccines are for people who take the first shot. Meanwhile, the state was able to vaccinate 1.56 lakh people on Thursday. More than 45 people became the biggest beneficiaries with 1.27 lakh shots.
