As hefty rains in Mumbai and at many parts of Maharashtra overnight today have brought the normal life down, which has caused major problems like traffic snarls, waterlogging, and disruption in local train services. Many trains have been cancelled due to this with the Central Railway also being cancelled due to over flooding on rail tracks, while train services on other lines have also been hindered. Trains assistance on the Konkan Railway route, which connects Maharashtra's Ratnagiri district was also paused this morning after water levels in the Vashishti river went on rising and crossed the danger mark overflowing the railway tracks which is between the Chiplun and Kamathe stations in the area.
 
The Deputy General Manager of Konkan region said "Eight trains have been controlled due to the major damage and chaos of the route.” Heavy rains have been lashing the city of Mumbai which has led to waterlogging in the low-lying areas. Some of the bus routes have also been diverted. The heavy rainfall in the city has caused major damages to the roads. In a recent case where 24 people died and several others were injured in the maximum city Mumbai after they were trapped under houses that had collapsed due to landslides following heavy rains.
