Malad Pharma Company too may have been the target of Fake vaccine scam mastermind
The fake vaccine scam that took place in the city of Mumbai last year is speculated to have impacted more people. The vaccine vials had been supplied by Mahendra Singh to Malad Pharmaceutical company in April for its employees. This supply of vaccines by Mahendra Singh was before he planned for a fraudulent drive at many firms, educational institutions and housing societies.

These beneficiaries did not get any certificate from the Cowin portal, which raised the question that did they get a vaccination or not and were they authentic. The charge sheet contains the statement of the pharma firm owner, Dr. Haresh Shah, 66.  He states that “At the time of pandemic last year, Singh used to visit my office and used to supply masks and sanitizers to my staff. He later told me that he had access to vaccination, after which I made inquiries for getting those vaccines for my staff and family, he stated that the vaccines would come from Shivam Hospital in Kandivali.”

38 sealed vials were delivered of Covishield at Dr. Haresh Shah. A total amount of 1.6 lakh Rs was paid to him and then Singh asked him to prepare a list of people who are to be administered the vaccines as to enter at Shivam Hospital so that the vaccination certificates could be generated. The empty vials were asked to return to him, after which the certificates were never generated.
