The competition "My Vasundhara Abhiyan 2022" was organised by the Maharashtra government's Department of Environment and Climate change and was based on the five natural principles of land, water, air, fire and sky. Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) was recognised at the divisional level in the "Amrut" category for its outstanding performance in the Konkan division. TMC head Dr. Vipin Sharma and additional commissioner Sanjay Herwade were presented with the honour by State Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat and Environment Minister Aditya Thackeray.

On hand were additional municipal engineer Ajurna Ahire, Deputy Commissioner Maruti Khodke, Chief Environment Officer Manisha Pradhan, Deputy Municipal Engineer Vinod Pawar, deputy municipal engineer Vinod Gupta, Bhatu Sawant and members of philanthropic organisations. Last year, Thane Municipal Corporation won first place in the Amrut city group. The state government implements this campaign every year and the Thane civic body is an active participant in it.

Officers and staff from Thane Municipal Corporation's Horticulture and Tree Authority, Solid Waste Management Department, Water Supply Department, Public Works Department, City Development Department, Education Department, Pollution Control Department, and all other departments worked tirelessly to ensure that this campaign was successfully implemented in the TMC area. The Pollution Control Department was successful in assembling all of the material and uploading it to the government portal.
