Due to job losses and rising unemployment, officials from the Thane district's animal husbandry department launched awareness campaigns for the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme across the districts. The drives are being held throughout the area in order to assist locals in taking advantage of KCC initiatives, which provide term loans to farmers and those interested in starting livestock or goat farms.

Locals interested in beginning an animal husbandry business have submitted 388 applications to the authorities, according to the authorities. However, applications would be accepted in all Talukas of Thane district until February 2022. The animal husbandry department in Kalyan Taluka held two drives and received 70 applications. In Murbad Taluka, the first drive was organised, and roughly 170 applications were received. In the Bhiwandi Taluka, two campaigns garnered a total of 67 contestants. In Shahapur, about 16 applications were received, and in Ambarnath, about 65.

"The government is aiding residents in receiving the benefits of the Kisan Credit Card Scheme." More villages should take advantage of the government's help if they want to start a farm. Kirti Doijode, Thane Collector Office's District Animal Husbandry Officer, said, "It will help them develop their business." The plan, according to Doijode, will provide participants with a loan of up to Rs 1.60 lakhs. This money can be used to buy fodder, medicine, immunisation, and working capital for animal feed. According to the government, the scheme would be available for dairy farming, poultry farming, goat breeding, sheep rearing, and boar observance."

According to the authorities, the loan would be levied a 7% interest rate. A 2% subsidy will be provided by the government. In addition, if the loan is repaid on time, the beneficiary will receive a 3% interest reduction. Individuals can inquire about the loan and the plan at the animal husbandry hospital, the office of their Taluka's animal husbandry officer, and the Panchayat Samiti office, according to the authorities, and then continue with the application procedure," Doijode said.

The drive was carried out under the supervision of Thane district Collector Rajesh Narvekar. The KCC proposal includes short-term lending limits for crops and term loans. Officials also determined that many of the residents are unemployed due to a lack of education. Because there were fewer jobs in the district, they had to drive to MIDC or market places, where they were hardly paid. They can, however, use such loans to establish their own business and earn a better livelihood.
