The BMC connects each ward's two civic-run schools with immunisation centres for kids

Meanwhile, the local body has set a one-month goal of vaccinating nine lakh youngsters aged 15 to 18, which means 4,500 people will be vaccinated every day at nine locations. Given the rise in covid and omicron infections, health experts say the centre’s decision to vaccinate youngsters is a great move. Furthermore, all of the youngsters were eager about getting vaccinated and were not afraid to do so since they believed they would be safer thereafter.

Suresh Kakani, Additional Municipal Commissioner, indicated that they are well prepared to vaccinate teenagers between the ages of 15 and 18, with each vaccine centre receiving at least 10,000 doses of Covaxin and inoculating 500 minors per day. "We've set a goal of vaccinating youngsters within a month," he added, adding that each vaccination centre is connected to two to three wards.
