Ahead of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections 2022, no party leaves any stone unturned to slam their opposition. In a recent attack the Shiv Sena in Mumbai, slammed the Centre, soon after excise duty on petrol and diesel was slashed by Rs 5 and Rs 10 respectively. Attacking the central government Shiv Sena Spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will have to storm-beaten totally if the price of fuel is to be brought down to Rs 50 directly.
Further taking a jibe at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led central government, Shiv Sena’s Raut who is part of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in the state of Maharashtra including Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), while interacting with media stated that one has to be harsh to uplift the fuel prices above 100, as the price of petrol all over the country was more than 100 for quite a long time.
The attack came soon after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led central government had minimised the excise duty on petrol by Rs 5 and Diesel by Rs 10 per litre, in a way to minimise the rates of rising fuel prices. This decision is speculated to be taken after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lost bypolls in some states which were controlled by them. Raut added that reducing the price by Rs 5 is not going to help in any manner and should have been bought down to Rs 25 after its defeat in bypolls and if the prices are to be brought down by Rs 50 then Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) must be completely defeated.
“People had to take a loan to celebrate the festival of Diwali, and there was no environment of festivity due to inflation in the country,” stated Shiv Sena Spokesperson Sanjay Raut.
