The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation will function its vaccination drive in the city of Mumbai between 2 to 5 pm on Tuesday. The first and second doses of Covishield will be given but only the second dose of Covaxin will be administered to people above the age group of 18 years. The second dose of Covaxin will be administered at 30 BMC vaccination centres with 100 doses per centre all over the city.
 
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation earlier stated that 50 percent vaccination will be reserved for those who have registered earlier through the web portal while people who have not registered will be open for walk-in-registrations. For the people above the age of 45 years, the first and second dose of Covishield will be given at drive-in centres.
 
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation had stated it very clear that people coming for the second dose need to carry the certificate of the first dose at the vaccination centres. The second dose of Covishield will be administered to the health care workers and frontline workers. 
 
The first and second doses of Covishield will be given to people above the age of 18. The first dose will be administered to 70 percent and the second dose will be administered to 30 percent of people. For those traveling overseas for jobs and education purposes or participating in Tokyo Olympics, the second dose of Covishield will be administered to them. The second dose will only be provided if the citizen has completed 28 days post first dose, with proper proof only then the on the spot registration can be proceeded said the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation
 
Mumbai is seeing more and more people visiting the vaccination centres, and the data suggests that people are rushing to the government centres then private ones. The city on Monday recorded 489 new cases, with 10 deaths and 645 people who recovered. The total active cases stand at 7,947.
