Following the state government Lockdown and BMC chief Iqbal Singh Chahal on Wednesday issued orders to curb the increase in Covid case in the city, similar to the restrictions in Maharashtra.  All restrictions imposed by the City Council during the first week of April will include food and essentials at home 24 hours a day, the movement of housekeepers, cooks, and drivers allowed every day, and will continue from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., allowing students to take various exams, including competitive exams.

In addition, wine and beer shops in the city are allowed to sell liquor through home delivery only on all days of the week.  If any person objects or opposes the implementation of this order, action will be taken against those concerned under Sections 51 to 60 of the Disaster Prevention Act 2005 and Sections 188 of the Indian Penal Code 1860 and other applicable laws.  Terms.  Section 188 of the IPC is disobedience to an order issued by a public servant.

Both are liable to imprisonment for 1 month or a fine of Rs.200 or a fine of Rs.6 or Rs.1,000 for endangering human life, health or safety.  The civic body said all of its orders will remain in effect as long as it reviews the state government order regarding Break the Chain.  Through online service providers and apps, orders allow food and essentials to stay up 24 hours a day, every day of the week.

In addition, hotels and restaurants are entitled to deliver food parcels as ordered by citizens. During the weekend lockdown, food stalls on the roadside, including fruit stalls, are allowed to deliver parcels or takeaway services.  No one can stand around and eat.  Housekeepers, cooks, drivers and house help are allowed.  Nurses and medical attendants providing services to senior citizens and sick people are allowed every day from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
