COVID-19 News: Relaxations for Fully Vaccinated Mumbai Local Passengers by BMC
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation in a recent statement stated that a plan is being made for the passengers who travel in the local trains in Mumbai, the relaxations are soon going to be made they added. But the relaxations will only be for those who have got both the doses of the vaccine against the Covid 19 in the second phase of the unlocking. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation further added that in this regard the Government of Maharashtra led by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will take the final decision.

This request by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) was made immediately after new guidelines came out stating that all passengers who are vaccinated fully that are with both the doses will be allowed to enter the Mumbai Airport without carrying a negative RT-PCR test report.

“As of now the situation in the city of Mumbai is in control and everyone is in a comfortable position at this moment. The decision on easing norms for the passengers who travel by local will be made soon in the second phase,” said BMC Chief Iqbal Singh Chahal.

Further, he added that most Rapid Antigen tests are taking place in local trains with surveillance and random tests too going on so here it becomes very difficult to have an RT-PCR test for lakhs of the passenger in the trains, but it surely would be taking place in the second phase.

Recently Maharashtra's Health Minister Rajesh Tope said that soon the Mumbai local trains will be resumed but it can only be possible if the state speeds the vaccination drive for which the supply from the centre should be adequate. As the Maharashtra districts are under level 3 restrictions a big question arises is that how Mumbai local train passengers will travel. He also added that the workers and journalists are demanding that local trains should be started.
