Mumbai: BMC announced relaxations on lockdown restrictions
After the daily meetings and a long time of discussion, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has come up with orders lifting the restrictions imposed due to the ongoing pandemic. These orders were issued on Monday after the city saw a decline in the caseload of Covid 19.

According to the orders imposed by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to lift the curb, all shops and establishments whether essential or non-essential will be allowed to operate on all days till 10 pm. Malls have still not been allowed to operate.
All the medical stores will be open 24x7.

For the operation of hotels and restaurants, no major relief has been given. Hotels and restaurants will be permitted to open till 4 pm on all days for dine-in including weekends as earlier they were not permitted to open on weekends. All the indoor and outdoor sports activities have been permitted by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) except for the swimming pools and other sports activities which involve physical contact.

By following the Covid 19 protocol the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has permitted film shooting in the city.
Municipal Commissioner Iqbal stated that “There is relaxation except for some and all other activities will have to be followed as per the earlier restrictions that are imposed for private offices, malls and theatres followed by the opening of public grounds and gardens.”

While giving orders to relax the restrictions Municipal Commissioner Chahal stated that the city has seen a positivity rate of 1.76 percent with the oxygen bed occupancy at 18.97 percent. While these are rates for level 1 restrictions, the State Government last month had issued orders that local bodies relax below level 3 restrictions.
