Ramdas Kadam accused Ministers Anil Parab and Uday Samant of conspiring with the NCP to bring the party down

The Shiv Sena, which leads Maharashtra's Maha Vikas Aghadi administration, is in a state of disarray. At a time when Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is recovering from serious spine surgery, infighting has erupted inside the party. Ramdas Kadam, a veteran Sena leader and former minister, has launched a stinging attack on ministers Anil Parab and Uday Samant, accusing them of plotting to destabilize the party by collaborating with the NCP. Samant is the guardian minister of Sindhudurg district, whereas Parab is the guardian minister of Ratnagiri. Kadam has criticised Parab and Samant for splintering the party while ignoring loyalists like himself and has stated that he will decide his next steps after seeing Thackeray. He said that Parab is a renegade who is treating NCP and MNS leaders like royalty while keeping Shiv Sena leaders at bay.

After Thackeray became Chief Minister, this is the first mutiny by a top Shiv Sena leader. Some high-profile Sena leaders have left the party, including Chhagan Bhujbal, Narayan Rane, and Raj Thackeray. Kadam stated that he is a staunch Shiv Sena supporter who has worked for the party for the past 52 years, and that coming out against Parab does not imply that he is anti-Shiv Sena. "Parab and Samant were appointed ministers to build the Sena, not to eliminate veteran party officials who have dedicated their lives to the party," says a source.

"I shall never abandon the saffron banner." Even if I get booted out, I will never leave the party. My children, on the other hand, are free to make their own choices," he remarked. When asked if he would join the BJP because it also represents the saffron, he answered the two parties are not the same (the Sena and the BJP). Kadam's outburst, on the other hand, was downplayed by Parab.

Thackeray has been encouraged by Kadam to keep an eye on Parab to protect the Shiv Sena's prospects in the Konkan region, which is Shiv Sena's pocket brough. Kadam, who was not nominated by the party for the recent Legislative Council elections from the Mumbai local bodies constituency, said that when the MVA government was formed in 2019, he suggested to Thackeray that senior leaders such as himself, Subhash Desai, and Diwakar Raote make way for younger leaders in the cabinet.
