COVID- According to Public Health Minister Rajesh Tope, 19 restrictions would be lifted each week as the pandemic is expected to be gone by the second week of March. On Monday, the Maharashtra Government approved an increase in the number of guests at weddings, as well as allowing swimming pools, water parks, theatres, and restaurants to operate at 50% capacity, pending approval from the relevant authority.
Following a spike in COVID-19 cases last month, the state has seen a decrease in the number of new infections reported daily.
The new recommendations, which were announced late Monday night, have eased restrictions in 11 districts across the state, where over 90% of eligible people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 70% have received both doses.
Mumbai, Pune, Bhandara, Sindhudurg, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Satara, Sangli, Gondia, Kolhapur, and Chandrapur are among the 11 districts. All national parks and tourist attractions in the state will remain open, according to new instructions released by state Chief Secretary Debashish Chakrabarty, while spas will be able to operate at 50% capacity.
According to the decision, there will be no limit on the number of individuals who can attend a funeral. "Concerning the 11 districts, weddings may have guests up to 25% of the capacity of the open ground and banquet halls or 200, whichever is lower," it said.
These rules, on the other hand, are "applicable in whole or in part only with the specific consent of the SDMA (State Disaster Management Authority)." According to the guidelines, the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) may decide on movement limitations between 11 P.M. and 5 A.M., the opening of local tourist attractions with appropriate restrictions, and the opening of weekly markets.
