Properties of 1000 crore linked to Ajit Pawar, IT Department attaches properties
In a recent breaking the Income Tax (IT) department has attached all the properties named under the Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. The properties are from Maharashtra, Delhi and Goa. As per the information from the official of the probe agency of the state’s Income Tax (IT) department the value of these properties spread in all three states is at 1000 crore.

The action from the Income Tax (IT) department came soon after they allegedly found information of income which was not included in any accounts, and the amount was a total of 184 crores. The search was carried out for five consecutive days at the starting of October.

Soon after allegations were levelled against the deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, the Income Tax (IT) led out a raid in 70 premises of two Mumbai based real estate groups, individuals and entities which were allegedly connected to Ajit Pawar and his family in the city of Mumbai.

On October 15, the Income Tax (IT) department after the raid stated that the documents founded mentions unaccounted income. Soon responding to this Deputy Chief Minister’s lawyer Prashant Patil stated that no property related to the deputy chief minister has been attached by the Income Tax (IT) department and also no notice has been received so far. He stated the attached property levelled upon the minister as baseless and misleading. The Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar too denied the reports.

“An apt response will be given soon on this matter, all the appropriate responses will be given through legal and administrative means, the news coming in is baseless and misleading. Before publishing any facts, it should be fact-checked,” stated Prashant Patil lawyer of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.

This case needs to be looked upon carefully by the probe agencies as Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections 2022 are around the corner and this can also be a part of counter attack coming from the opposition party in the city of Mumbai, against the ally of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government.
