KOLHAPUR: NCP CHIEF SHARAD PAWAR HAS SAID THAT STATE SHOULD BE READY FOR MID-TERM ELECTIONS AFTER THE ELECTIONS TO THE BRIHANMUMBAI MUNICIPAL CORPORATION.

At a function in Karad on Wednesday, Pawar also said that the reaction to the statement of actor Aamir Khan shows that some people think the country is their own property and they have the right to ask others leave the country. Such reactions itself are reflection of intolerance.

He was in Karad to pay homage to late deputy prime minister and chief minister Yashwantrao Chavan on his death anniversary.

The people of the country are keen on change and it has been recently confirmed through the Bihar elections as well as bypolls in other states, Pawar said. “Hence, people of the state (Maharashtra) should not be surprised if you face mid-term elections, most probably after the results of the Bombay Municipal Corporation,” he said.
