On the Goregaon-Mulund Link Road (GMLR), the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation plans to build three six-lane flyovers. The GMLR is one of the BMC's major projects that will relieve traffic congestion in Mumbai's eastern and western suburbs. The suggestion will be presented at the next meeting of the standing committee. These three flyovers would cost the BMC Rs. 819 crores to build. The GMLR, according to the plan, will be the fourth link road connecting the eastern and western suburbs. It will alleviate major traffic congestion issues and save Mumbai residents valuable commute time. The road is 12.2 kilometres long in total. On the road, two tunnels will be built as well. The first tunnel would run beneath the Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP), while the second will go beneath the Goregaon film city.

The building of the GMLR will take place in four phases, according to the BMC proposal. The first two stages have already begun to be worked on. The first stage has already begun with the extension of the bridge near the Nahur railway station, and the second stage has already begun with the extension of the road near the proposed tunnel. The BMC intends to construct three flyovers in the third stage. Three flyovers have been proposed by BMC's technical consultant, M/s TPF Engineering Pvt. Ltd. The first six-lane bridge will be built at Ratnagiri Hotel Chowk, connecting Dindoshi court to the Film City near Goregaon. The bridge will have a length of 1265 metres. At Mulund Khindipada, the second bridge will feature an elevated ring road. The six-lane flyover near Mulund's Dr. Hedgewar Chowk will be 1890 metres long.

Tenders for the project were requested. Three companies had expressed an interest in the project. M/s SP Singala Construction Pvt. Ltd was the winner of the competition. The firm is willing to work within a budget of Rs.584.27 crores. When taxes and other fees are included, the total cost of the three flyovers reaches Rs. 819 crores. The project will be completed in 60 months, according to the estimates. A bank guarantee of 110 percent will be required of the contractor. BMC would initially pay this company 10 crores in advance so that they may begin making preliminary building preparations. The octroi land near Airoli and Mulund will be made available for the casting yard, according to the proposal.
