On Independence Day Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray takes a pledge to get rid of Covid 19
On the day of 75TH Independence Day, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray stated that Covid 19 pandemic has taken everyone to the time of Pre- Independence days and made a request from the citizens asking them to take a pledge so that the state and the Country are free from this disease. 
 
After the flag hoisting at Mantralaya the State Secretariat, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray stated that the state is fighting Covid 19 disease with determination and the vaccination drive against the disease was also being accelerated he further said that "Just yesterday, we achieved a milestone of vaccinating 9.5 lakh citizens on a single day.”
 
“As we celebrate 75 years of Independence, we need to take care of the country so we pledge that we will soon make our country and state free of Covid 19. This time of Pandemic has taken all of us back to the pre-independence days same we experiencing for the last one and a half years,” he said. 
 
The restrictions have been released but there is still threat as new strains of the virus are being detected in different countries,” stated Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. He further went on to say that it is not enough to just remember the history while celebrating Independence Day but one should preserve the values of freedom secured because of the sacrifices of many people.
