In the past few days, the city of Mumbai has been recording a rise in Covid 29 cases, after which the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) stated that these speculations of a third wave right now are wrong, but further stated that the approaching 30 days will be very crucial.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials stated that there is a possibility of a rise in the Covid 19 cases after the Ganesh festival, which will begin from Friday. It has been more than a week that the city of Mumbai has been recording a rise in Covid 19 cases which are being recorded above 400 daily. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials ascribed relaxation, which was given in the last month as the cases started to decline the reason.
In a recent relaxation, the
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) permitted all shops to open up till 10 pm, and also opened up malls and restaurants, which is speculated to be the reason for the rise in cases. From the orders of the state government, the local train services were also started on 15 August with only those commuters who have been administered both the doses of the vaccination.
“We are keeping track of the situation, with our preparations being geared up for the third wave of Covid 19 as the cases rise again. Though it will be very early to say that this is the start of the third wave. As the Ganesh Festival approach, we are going to see a large number of gatherings, they would travel, mingle and socialise during the festival and after which there will be a spike in Covid 19 cases. The spike is expected to take place in the next 30 days or even it may take an end of September,” stated Additional Municipal Commissioner, Suresh Kakani.
