The Kalyan-Dombivli vaccination drive will be a pause on Thursday due to the unavailability of vaccines. For the seventh consecutive day, the drive has been suspended. The drive was suspended on June 27, June 29, June 30, July 1, July 2, July 5, and July 7.
The scarcity of vaccination is being noticed by the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation for a very long time. The civic body in a tweet stated that “all the vaccination centres at Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation will remain closed on July 8.” The alyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation has reported 199 new Covid-19 cases.
The reason for the suspension of the vaccination drive is the unavailability of stocks and the vaccination dosages are not available, it’s the Government of Maharashtra that plans to procure vaccines on its own for the age group of 18 to 45, and the road map is being prepared by the state government as in this phase of vaccination, there is lack of availability in the state.
The actual population and masses in the state of Maharashtra is a total of 8.5 crores, out of the 5 crores are in the age group of 18 to 45 years. The health officials from the department do come out and say that currently, it is a challenge for the state to make the vaccine available at all the centres.
Currently, in this scenario, there are certain hospitals all across Mumbai, where the vaccination dosages are not available currently. People are coming and again going back as the centre is closed. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has come out with a tweet saying about the unavailability of the vaccine on Thursday.
