Maharashtra: No great response on the first day of opening cinema halls
Soon after the cases started to decline in the state of Maharashtra, the government decided to lose the curbs and open cinema halls and restaurants in the state. The decision was to open cinema halls from the 22nd of October. On the first day of resuming the services in the Cinema Hall and theatres, the state saw less than 20 percent of customers visiting them.

A total of 532 multiplexes with 470 single-screen theatres, out of these 259 multiplexes are in the city of Mumbai and 65 single-screen theatres are in Mumbai. “The total number of people visiting the theatres were noticed less and that too single screens were not operational, we are expecting that the business will go up during the Diwali times, but we also urge the government of Maharashtra to permit 100 percent occupancy in the halls and multiplexes,” stated President of Cinema Owners Nitin Datar.

The government of Maharashtra on 13th October issued guidelines for resumption of cinema halls, theatres and multiplexes from October 22nd with 50 percent capacity. The guidelines stated that only those people who have taken both the shots of the vaccination will be allowed in the cinema halls, multiplexes and they should visit with their Covid 19 fully vaccinated certificates, or with the Aarogya Setu app showing that their status is safe.

After these SOPs the cinema hall owner has stated the difficulty they are facing with these SOPs as it is becoming difficult for them manually to check every visitor's temperature and then give the report to the authority.
