NCP top spokesman and Minority Affairs Minister Nawab Malik raised the subject of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) purportedly deploying a private army in Mumbai for extortion and ransom on Sunday. "After an actress committed herself inside the Oshiwara Police Station's jurisdiction, it was discovered during the inquiry that certain persons were extorting money by acting as NCB officers," Malik stated.
'The NCB officials had formed a private army, and through it, they were conducting large-scale extortion operations. 'People like KP Gosavi and Mahesh Bhanushali (punches in the cruise drug bust case) were involved and had previously been exposed," Malik claimed. He claimed that the police should look into the situation. In the hours following Malik's assault on the NCB, police detained two people for impersonating NCB officers and extorting money from others, including a Bhojpuri actor. Malik has been launching a barrage of accusations against NCB and Zonal Director Samir Wankhede, accusing them of conducting a private army and engaging in extortion and ransom. Wankhede, on the other hand, has refuted Malik's allegations.
Malik had previously accused Wankhede of using a phoney army to extort money and generate notoriety. "In the future, I will show that he generated terror by assembling a private army without recruiting any government officials or employees." Pletcher Patel, Adil Usmani, KP Gosavi, Manish Bhanushali, and others, according to him, "enter into people's homes and keep drugs and trap individuals."
