Soon after continuous allegations were made by the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Nawab Malik on not only the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) zonal officer Sameer Wankhede but also his family. In a recent attack, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Malik stated that a face value of over Rs 14 crores was seized during a raid in the year 2017 and former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had suppressed the matter. Denying this claim Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) zonal officer Sameer Wankhede had stated the allegation levelled of 14.56 crore amount of counterfeit notes were seized but the amount was only 10 lakhs, and three people were arrested in this case.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officer further stated that officials of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) have asked the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to look into the case, but the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Nawab Malik need not look into this matter. “The allegations which are being carried out by the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Nawab Malik have no reality. In the year 2017, the Face value of counterfeit notes that were seized was around 10 lakhs, not 14 crores as said by Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Nawab Malik. In this matter three people have also been arrested,” stated Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officer Sameer Wankhede.

This response from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) zonal officer Sameer Wankhede came soon after the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Nawab Malik had organized a press conference where he stated that he was fighting with such a man who frames innocent people in fake cases, and such type of man is being defended by the former Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Devendra Fadnavis.
