Once again, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Malik on Saturday slammed the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) zonal officer Sameer Wankhede demanding an SIT investigation on the allegation of extortion charges. Taking on Twitter the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Nawab Malik stated that, “It was demanded by me of the SIT investigation to know all about Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officer Sameer Wankhede in a kidnapping case and then demanding money from Sharukh Khan after his son got arrested, now that two SIT’s together will investigate into this matter, it is to be seen who brings out the skeletons to expose him and his army.”
This attack from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Nawab Malik came soon after the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) declared that it will transfer the case to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) officers in Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) branch in New Delhi. “The Director General has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate into this matter, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officer in new Delhi will be looking on 6 cases which have national and international ramifications, to get better findings and deeper knowledge about the cases,” a release by Deputy Director General Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) headquarters, Sanjay Kumar.
The issued document further read that as of now no officers have been removed from their roles and they will continue to assist the work until any further orders have come. The Mumbai unit which is headed by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officer Sameer Wankhede will not be assisting six cases including the cruise ship drugs case.
Responding to the developments after the allegations levelled against him, Wankhede stated that I was never a part of investigating these cases, as I am still the zonal officer, I am not removed from the post, it was my appeal to the central agency to interfere in this matter and carry out this case. There will be coordination between the NCB office in Mumbai and Delhi.
