Navi Mumbai Airport Construction work likely to commence from August 2021: Adani
The much-awaited Construction work costing ?16,000-odd crore for the making of Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIAL), which recently has come under the administration of Adani Group, is anticipated to start next month. The developer who has been assigned newly has stated that the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIAL) is predicted to operate from 2024.

“The commencement of the Navi Mumbai International Airport by the Adani Airport Holdings Ltd (AAH) will take place next month and the new airport will be ready till 2024,” stated the new developer. In the recent press release, it was stated by the Adani Group about acquiring the management of both Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL) and Navi Mumbai International Adani Ltd (NMIAL).

Currently, the land acquisition project has been done, stated the Public Relation Officer, CIDCO. CIDCO is the executing agency for the new airport. This announcement plays a very important role at this point of time when in December 2020, the previous promoter of NMIAL had written to CIDCO claiming there is no need for a second airport till the year 2024 as the aviation sector has been much impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic with the travel demand falling. “Revisiting project timelines may be beneficial to all parties concerned, with the state government,” Kapil Kaul, who is the chief executive officer of Centre of Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA) stated in a statement.
