After self-demolishing in accordance with the court's directions, Union Minister Narayan Rane has returned his eight-story Juhu house, Adhish, to its former state. The restoration has been reported to the Bombay High Court and attested to by the BMC. A social activist had complained to the BMC on multiple occasions about unauthorised changes Rane had made to his bungalow. Earlier, under the Maha Vikas Aghadi administration, Rane had received notifications from the BMC, who also had his residence examined.

Following that, warnings to remove unauthorised buildings were issued. At the time of the bungalow's construction, the local authority had also observed infractions of the Floor Space Index (FSI) and Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) regulations. The Designated Officer (Building and Factory) Department of K-West ward Swapnil Kolekar has signed the BMC's affidavit of restoration that was filed to the court. According to the document, the court ordered the BMC to destroy any illegal construction at Adhish on September 20, 2022, and also requested a compliance report within a week.

Rane then appealed the HC order through a Special Leave Petition (SLP), which was denied by the Supreme Court (SC). According to the BMC's affidavit, Rane's company, Kalka Real Estate Pvt Ltd, informed the BMC on November 9 that demolition and repair had begun in accordance with the HC ruling.
He notified the BMC on December 5, 2022, that the required demolition was finished and that BMC officers may inspect it.

This was done on December 9-10 and December 15. The officers noted that the petitioner (Rane) had brought the building back into compliance with the notifications that had been given to him. The hearing about the order's compliance will take place soon at HC. The BMC was represented in the lawsuit by senior counsel Anil Sakhare, and Mr. Rane was represented by counsel Shardul Singh.
