MVA targets the Governor of Maharashtra for his proposed visit to Marathwada
After the Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari proposed that he would be visiting three districts in Marathwada, an additional series has flared up between the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) and governor.  The visit which is going to be done by Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari had been opposed by the state government stating that the Governor was obstructing the ongoing work of the administration and is trying to create a substitute power centre in Maharashtra.

On Tuesday, Chief Secretary Sitaram Kunte registered Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government’s protest over the proposed visit to the Raj Bhavan. According to the plan put forward by the Governor’s office, Bhagat Singh Koshyari will chair review meetings with the District Collectors in the Marathwada region, and planning for inauguration programs of various development has also been done. In this regard, the State Government has opposed that these inauguration programs are being conducted by the Governor without informing and co-ordinating with the State Government.

“The Governor while visiting in Nanded will be inaugurating two hostels which are constructed by the State Minorities Department at the University of Nanded. These are the construction done by the State Government and as of now, they have not been handed over to the University. The Governor is the Vice-Chancellor of these Universities has all the rights to visit and have a look the administration there but the governor has gone two miles ahead and has decided to inaugurate these hostels without even asking the State Government which is built by them,” stated the Minister for Minority Development Nawab Malik.

The Minister further stated that “By holding meetings with the district collector in Nanded the Governor is trying to form a picture of two power centres operating in the state still when it is clear enough that there is precise delegation of responsibility between the State Government and Governor. He can get the information from the Chief Secretary if he wants.”
