Ahead of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections 2022 around the corner, Amit Shah’s visit has triggered opposition. Despite a widening schism among both estranged allies, Union Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah dared Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to step down on Sunday, and he also issued an open challenge to the three ruling partners in Maharashtra — the Shiv Sena, the NCP, and the Congress — to attack together and defeat the BJP. Shah criticized the Shiv Sena-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government for its substandard performance and said that the state's development has come to a halt in his address to booth chiefs in Pune.
Shah, who was in the state for a two-day visit, had used the metaphor of a three-wheeler car to explain how the MVA administration operates. "Its three tyres are all punctured and they're all going in opposite directions. "Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's health is deteriorating; may God provide him good health. When his health was good, however, the public would inquire, "Where is the government, He underlined that the BJP never offered the CM's office to a close friend; contrary, the Shiv Sena deserted the BJP and became the state government after the 2019 assembly elections.
Shah slammed the MVA government, claiming that the ruling coalition has devised a new definition of DBT. Instead of direct, 'D' stands for the dealer, 'B' for a broker and 'T' for transfer cut. DBT stands for 'Direct Benefit Transfer' in the BJP-led government, but it is a sector of dealers, brokers, and transfers for the MVA. Shah's scathing assault on the Shiv Sena and its leader, Uddhav Thackeray, comes as both of these are warming to the Congress. Also, at a time when the Shiv Sena is making a strong case for forming a formidable opposition front with the Congress at its heart to take on the BJP in the upcoming general elections. Shah also went after Congress, claiming that the party insulted Dr. BR Ambedkar "when he was alive and even after his death." He pointed out that the Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award, was bestowed posthumously to the principal architect of the constitution by a Non-Congress government.
