Mumbai to notice 24-hour water cut
With the ongoing repair work led out by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) ahead of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections 2022, the city’s water supply will be affected on Tuesday and Wednesday. The work is going on in the pumping station at Bhandup and Pise Panjrapur Complex.
 
As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials, the work of maintenance is going on for the replacement of two 1,200mm diameter sluice valves at the 1910 MLD pumping station of Bhandup Complex and also the replacement work for the stage 3 pump which is set at Pise Panjrapur Complex. Ahead of this the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) also looks forward doing the leakage-related work on 1,800 mm diameter water mains. 
 
With this work being in progress the water supply will be affected on Tuesday, from 10 am to 10 pm, the water cut is expected to be around 15 percent all over the city of Mumbai and suburbs. The work of leakages at Powai will affect the water supply completely in the areas under K/West, S, G/North and H/East wards of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). 
 
This is the second time in October when the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced a water cut in the city, the earlier was from 5 October to 7 October. This decision was due to the routine maintenance work done by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). This maintenance work is undertaken by the civic officials to make sure that the people in the city of Mumbai get good quality of water and also keeping in mind the approaching Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections 2022.
