Mumbai the first to achieve 100% first dose vaccine coverage
It’s been 10 months since the nationwide Covid 19 vaccination programme came out and today the city of Mumbai has achieved 100 percent first dose coverage. Happy with the news, the civic official came out stating that it was possible with the laws framed by them.

“This was possible only because the vaccination centres were decentralised so it helped in vaccination coverage,” stated Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Suresh Kakani Further, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) stated that the aim is not only this much but to go ahead of 100 percent stating that many people from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region have been administered the vaccination drive in the city of Mumbai.

“This news shows that the city of Mumbai has a lot more protection but relying on this fact people should not become lazy and stop following Covid 19 appropriate behaviour, as the Covid 19 virus is not predictable with examples in different countries around the world who can see a large number of Covid 19 cases still being recorded. France has recently announced that is experiencing the fifth wave of Covid 19,” stated Infectious Disease Expert and Member of Maharashtra’s Covid 19 task force Dr. Om Srivastava.

With just 10 vaccination centres with it, the city of Mumbai on January 16th this year had launched its first phase of Covid 19 vaccination, slowly and steadily passing the hurdles like shortage of supply the number of vaccinations centres increased. “This is a big milestone and the first city in the country perhaps, showing that 100 percent vaccination can be acquired, this should be  considered by other districts in the country,” stated Vaccination expert Dr. Naveen Thacker.
